Marketing Campaign Specialist

Chicago, IL (NW Suburbs) - Full Time

A little about this role:

As our Marketing Campaign Specialist, you’ll be working to develop, execute and report on email programs within client email systems. We’re looking for an innovative and entrepreneurial individual who is willing to roll up his or her sleeves and help own our clients’ email programs. Our ideal candidate should be structured, detail-oriented, analytical, driven to get work done and have an eye for great work.

This position requires you to maintain multiple email projects and communicate solutions to other members of the team both verbally and in written documentation.  This is a highly visible, detailed and strategic role.


  • Own and manage all facets of client email programs within enterprise email systems such as ExactTarget, Eloqua, Silverpop, Responsys and/or similar systems
  • Plan, set up, implement, and configure email programs
  • Utilize tools to schedule one-off and trigger programs
  • Configure A/B testing, segmentation and dynamic content
  • Work with account and creative teams to set up and execute more advanced tests
  • Track and report email campaign metrics
  • Complete rigorous QA checks on every campaign
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly and ad hoc email trigger reporting and refine the reporting process
  • Support internal senior platform specialists, account management and creative teams
  • Develop and document efficiencies in current and future processes
  • Collaborate and contribute ideas at marketing planning meetings
  • Produce email campaign templates by required deadlines using HTML and CSS if needed
  • Work with other team members to identify and implement complex lifecycle programs within the chosen Email Service Provider platform
  • Integrate current ESP metrics with enterprise analytics solutions
  • Continually strive towards pushing the ESP platform to its limits by identifying cutting edge methodologies to improve email programs
  • Continually identify areas for optimization within ESP platforms
  • Continuing education within ESP platforms and emerging trends/ technologies

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, Web Design and Development, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years professional hands-on experience within marketing
  • Proficiency in SQL, Exacttarget data extensions and the use of Interactions (or other ESP equivalents)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Detail-oriented, self-directed and able to set priorities
  • Professional in both verbal and written communication
  • A team player who also works well independently, thinks creatively, solves problems and takes initiative
  • Obsessed with technology and love to talk about it
  • An excellent and inquisitive troubleshooter
  • Provider of sound conclusions based on data, experience, and your own research
  • Willing to work on new challenges but remain focused on your regular duties
  • Comfortable with tight deadlines; organized, efficient, detail-oriented and able to multitask
